As translator, teacher of translation students at University, trainer of freelance translators and project managers, as project manager, technical consultant and CAT tools support manager, and in the role of CAT tool designer and workflow consultant to large service providers and their biggest customers.
He works as a consultant for the translation companies. He helped Lingo24 to grow from a home based translation provider to a mature global translation technology and service provider, with around 200+ staff in the UK, USA, the Philippines and Romania.
For Lingo24 and other Language Service Providers, Christof solves work-flow problems, designs solutions and troubleshooting, trains staff and suppliers and manages exciting work-flow developments.
He is available for contractor work in all fields and works as a freelance translator (En>Ge) since 2001.
He also has been teaching courses on Computer Aided Translation tools (CAT), Localisation, General Issues for Freelance Translators and Advanced German Translation at the Centre for T&I at the University of Auckland.
With seven years experience in retail sales management in Germany, Christof travelled to New Zealand in late 1996. In 1998 he began his studies for a BA (major in Philosophy) and a Graduate Diploma in Translation Studies at the University of Auckland.
Christof resides in the Earthsong Eco-Neighbourhood, New Zealands first Co-housing community.
